It’s been a long day, but a cold beer and falling asleep in front of a Dodgers game sounds like heaven. Glancing at the clock as he entered the bull pen, Don could see he still had 3 hours before he could officially escape, as long as a new case didn’t come in before he got out the door.
Don sat heavily at his desk, the mail lying in front of him. After dozing for a few minutes he flipped through the letters till he saw the one addressed from the Bureau. Opening it quickly, the words temporary reassignment to Washington DC jumps out at him.
How am I going to tell them. Dad is going to kill me, Don thought quickly trying to push back his real fear. And Charlie… that means leaving Charlie.
